Hinterland is a reverse-contrast flared display face. It combines the 19th-century wood type style with Lombardic forms to create a fresh take on a classic genre. The inspiration for Hinterland came from some custom lettering I did in 2025 during my MA as a sketch for a book cover The Navigator’s Daughter. An all caps font, Hinterland features a full range of western Latin diacritics as well as numerals and fractions.
